Ear wax is a substance produced by the glands situated within the ear canal to stop dust, bacteria and other detritus from reaching the eardrum, potentially damaging the eardrum or causing other audiology challenges.
Some earwax is necessarily present in the ear to maintain ear health, lubricating skin and preventing dust and bacteria from entering. The amount of earwax that is produced may vary from one person to another.
In general ear wax will dissipate naturally but sometimes a build-up may occur causing ear pain, general levels of discomfort and some hearing loss
Our fully qualified and experienced Audiologist will be able to advise you on the best course of action to relieve your symptoms using micro suction or other solution such as low pressure Ear Irrigation.
Due to COVID-19 and an increase in PPE requirements, the price of microsuction has increased to £55 for one ear or £80 for both ears.
